Gucci Cruise 2017, London.

And it came the time for Gucci to present it’s Cruise 2017 in non other place than Westminster Abbey in the very classy city of London this Thursday.

This time Gucci presented 96 garments that included the amazing patterns, the basic little dresses, pleated skirts, delicate knitwear and very femenine evening gowns.

Alessandro Michele’s collection has been described by most of the media as “eccentric” for me it’s a very creative, fun, colorful collection filled with felines, apparently felines will be very trendy next year, VERY.

In Alessandro’s own words:

“You put more and more just to be crazy, because when you are crazy, you have the illusion of fashion. And fashion is the biggest illusion you can have.”

So I guess we got to be a little more crazy if we want to do and wear innovative and flawless fashion each season.

As always here are my favorite looks of the collection, I hope you agree with me.

Pineda Covalin

Cristina Pineda and Ricardo Pineda created Covalín Covalín 20 years ago, a brand that emerged as part of a collaboration between the two Mexican designers and the Mexican National Institute of Anthropology and History. The value of the brand lies in the exaltation of the mythology of peoples and indigenous roots of Mexico.

Pineda Covalin Monarch butterflies Printing PatternSince 1996, Pineda Covalín enhances the aesthetics of the various forms of expression-architecture, sculpture, painting, and codices of Mexican popular culture and captures the essence of pre-Hispanic roots in textile design and fashion accessories.

Pineda Covalin´s main goal of taking Mexico´s name abroad, excellent translation of their inspirations on fabrics, their original concept and elegant designs has made me completely fall in love with the entire brand.

Alexia Ulibarri

Alexia Ulibarri is a designer based in Mexico City where she has been established since F/W 2009. By fusing her personal experiences, stories and work experience over time, art, technology, forms and all types of material, causing a process of experimentation she developed a customized and experimental process that has resulted in a concept and design formula in which she finds herself and her collections.

After studying fashion design and pattern cutting at London College of Fashion and Marangoni. Alexia returns to Mexico, in order to develop her own label ALEXIA ULIBARRI. She showcased her first collection FW09 “Dark Romance” in Mexico City. The essence of the brand lies in the delicate strength of women. Her style combines past and present and she experiments with materials, textures, cuts and prints to create a contemporary look for today’s women.

Each piece is unique and seeks to offer different personalities and body types a variety of options via special details that make them stand out pieces. Celebrities such as Alessandra Ambrossio & Heide Lindgreen among others have worn ALEXIA ULIBARRI designs. The brand is starting its internationalization process and RTW growth. The collections are made and produced in Mexico with the highest quality materials.

Alexia Ulibarri´s nostalgic, dramatic, romantic, elegant and so feminine design of every garment, has made her  part of GlemMx Top list of Fashion Designers.

Juan Carlos Obando

From Barranquilla, Colombia att the age of 19 he worked as a graphic designer in advertising agency Saatchi & Saatchi.

“After several years I realized that what interested me most of the spots created was the clothing of the protagonists,” says the Colombian who lives in the United States.

In 2008 it was decided and launched the fashion design. His first passes were private and for a select clientele, among which the director of Vogue USA, Anna Wintour was. Backed by Wintour -a support that was confirmed when he was a finalist in the 10th anniversary of Vogue Fashion Fund prize awarded by the CFDA / Vogue-, Obando bet filled by his own signature, a label passing through the renewal of the codes American fashion.

The inspiration for their designs comes from those sensual women who walked steadily for his native Barranquilla, an influence is palpable in its use of the color palette. Comfort is another of the hallmarks of garments designed by the Colombian.

“People think sleepwear as very rigid. My designs are party but fluid, “He stated. “A look only works when approaching the personality of its owner.”

This is demonstrated by some of its most assiduous clients including actresses are Julia Roberts, Jessica Alba, Cate Blanchett & Anna Wintour.

One of my personal favorites mainly because of the delicate design of every garment.

 Sandra Weil

Sandra Weil Couture was founded in 2008 with a vision of creating beautiful handcrafted attire of the highest quality using materials with sumptuous textures and putting special attention on the details and fine finishes. Her fashion basics were taught by the women of her family, specially her grandmother from whom she inherited that sensibility that profoundly influence all of her designs.

Spring Summer 2016

BEAUTY TRENDS SS16

Through daring new haircuts, celebrations of air-dried texture, and brazen dashes of glitter, the Spring 2016 runway shows took the call to individuality to soaring new heights.
In some cases, that meant healthy skin, swirls of tawny blush, and subtle shading that heightened the effect of an unconventional set of features. But there were plenty of playful makeup declarations, too, in the form of daubed-on red lipstick or swaths of blue eyeshadow (the mere range of which, from Dries Van Noten’s stripe of glitter to Chanel’s pastel eye mask, proved there’s no wrong way to dip into the versatile palette).

“Play with your brightest color at the outer of your eye. Begin with a luminous shade similar to your skin tone as a base using a medium bristled flat brush most the color onto the lid and al los tinto fade. Take a slightly damp, dome-shaped brush & build your bold color to the outer quarter of your eye along the top lash line. Gently buff the color upwards & inwards on the eyelid using circular movements. This will allow it to remain bold at the lash line. Multiple black mascara layers will provide a contrast.” ~ Angie Semple from Dior.

“Highlight your upper lip to create the fuller lip effect. Under the eyebrows & inner corner of the eyes to open & brighten the eye area”. ~ Patricia Bensimon from Burberry Beauty.

WATER COLOR

Water Colors - SS16 Beauty Trends

Water Colors – SS16 Beauty Trends

A romantic look. Basically consists in the soft wash of colors in pastel tones around the eyes.

Key colors:

  • Pastel blue.
  • Pastel pink.
  • Pastel yellow.
  • Pastel green.

On the runway:

  • Veronique Leroy.
  • Tara Naka.
  • Anteprima.
  • Jill Stuart.
  • Manish Arora.

Tips from the experts:

“Combine cool pastels, like pale pink, light lilac or cool blue, to create dreamy eyes. Use yellow for a brightening effect on the white of your eyes. Soft yellow has the ability to reduce the redness in your eyes. To enhance the impact of soft eyeshadow use either complementary or opposing colors for your eyeliner & mascara. For example, combine a soft tangerine eyeshadow with with a blue mascara or a bright blue eyeliner . Match your nail polish to your eye makeup, rather than your lips.~ Paul van der Wal from Teees Global.

“Achieve a soft & romantic look by applying a wash color such as pink, green or even purple across the eyelid & up, just above the crease of the eye.” ~ Leslie Anne Iddison from Clarins.

“Apply a colored eye pencil around the eye & blend out to create a soft diffused look. Then apply a soft color over the entire eyelid & blend that color out through the crease & fade up onto the brow bone. Use the same color or a contrasting one in the same intensity under the eye from corner, blending out softly so there are no hard edges.” ~ Joanne Black from Giorgio Armani.

HAIR DO’S TRENDS

Hair - SS16 Beauty Trends

Hair – SS16 Beauty Trends

Crowning Glories:

  • Swingy low ponytails and easy air-dried waves played a supporting role to a scene-stealing lineup of hair accessories. From the simple black grosgrain bow at Oscar de la Renta to the glittering Saint Laurent tiara, the runways were a case study in how to pull off a decorative hair ornament. Headbands were quite substantial on this season’s runways, Phillip Lim, Erin Fetherston, and Naeem Khan we’re using these thick bands to update all of our hairstyles – from ponytails, to braids, to buns.

Cuts:

  • Is there anything more personal than a signature statement cut? On runways from New York to Paris, models abandoned uniform waist-length hair in favor of choppy bangs (Kiki Willems), buzz cuts (Ruth Bell), and idiosyncratic above-the-shoulder crops. Executed with scissors, razors, bobby pins, and even wigs, each startling transformation emphasized the power of picking up the shears.

Upgraded Ponytails:

  • This genius style from Adam Selman is easy to execute (we all did it in grade school!) but looks sophisticated due to it’s use of cool fabric. Ponytails were also seen styled simply this season with ribbons at Oscar de la Renta or high on the head at Kate Spade with black fabric twisted around the base. Basically, the easiest solution to upgrade a boring ponytail is to add a fabric accessory, ASAP.

Textured, Messy Buns:

  • The imperfect bun is nothing new, but this season hairstylists at countless shows insisted on raking their fingers through the hair to get imperfect lines, instead of using brushes. Use this technique now to get that easy, textured look when pulling your hair back into a bun, like we saw at Katie Ermilio, Tory Burch and Edun. Then, secure it into a knot at the base and pin into place.

Braids and Twists:

  • We can no longer call braids a trend, as they’re now a tried-and-true staple in every girl’s beauty routine, but each Fashion Week the hair pros show us a new way to switch ’em up. This season, it was all about the face-framing braids, pictured above at Herve Leger. Starting at the crown of the head, this French braid was pulled down across the forehead letting a few pieces fall out to give it a softer feel.

Easy, Effortless Hair:

  • For the Spring 2016 season, effortless was in. While we all know that the bedhead look actually requires more than just getting out of bed, we want to start rocking this “cool girl” hair ASAP. Seen at Derek Lam, Rodarte and Coach, the key to this look is always blow drying with fingers, never a brush.

NAILS

The Resurgence of Nail Art:

  • While we all love a great neutral manicure, subtle nail art made it’s way back to the runway in the form of stripes and updated French tips. If you’re into a little flare on your fingertips, try the look from Tibi which was a play on the French with a segmented bright tip.

I really hope you like this review.

Day 7 at Paris Fashion Week Ready to Wear Fall – Winter 2016

Day 7 at Paris Fashion Week was nothing but pure originality on every collection. New trends poppet out and Fashion inspirations that I’ve never seen before

There’s has to be a special mention to Véronique Branquino and her very unique theme for the collection and Fashion Show. Inspired on what I guess the 17th Century she presented, for me, a very elegant creepy collection and fashion show which resulted to be brilliant with beautiful designs. All my life I hadn’t seen a Terror Fashion Show and that to me is a WIN since no one had done it before and I wouldn’t guess that terror could be so fashionable and I happen to love everything scary themes.

Here are my favorite fashion shows of the day and their respective basic trends.
